What data does inWind WA Helper store?

Where translations, settings, and credentials live, how long results last, and what you can delete. Local results expire after 90 days.

The extension stores two kinds of data locally: results it has produced, and the configuration needed to produce them. It does not keep a copy of your WhatsApp chat history.

Retention is deliberately short and visible. You can clear results or credentials from settings at any time.

Derived results in IndexedDB

Translations, voice transcripts, and image-understanding results are saved in the extension IndexedDB. Each record is keyed by message ID and a fingerprint of the source content.

A saved result appears again without another model call when the same message and content return. Results expire after 90 days, at most 500 are kept, and settings has a clear action. Original text, images, and audio are not written into this result database.

Settings and credentials

Language preferences, service choice, model settings, and API keys live in extension storage. API keys use the local storage area restricted to trusted extension contexts.

A pending import selection is kept in session storage and deleted after the import. When configuration changes, open side panels are notified so old requests and old keys stop working.

What is not stored locally

The extension does not store your contact list, chat list, or message history. It does not copy images or audio into a media library.

With the official service, account, wallet, usage, and task records live on wa.inwindoverseas.com under the service's own policy. With a custom API, the content you submit goes to the provider you configured, and that provider's retention policy applies.

Retention and deletion

Results disappear after 90 days or when you clear them. Deleting local configuration and keys removes the credentials used for custom APIs. Uninstalling the extension clears extension storage.

Account, wallet, usage, and task records held by the official service follow its policy. Use the account page to sign out and revoke shortcut or PWA credentials. For other record requests, use the contact channel in the Chrome Web Store listing. Content already sent to a third-party model provider must be deleted under that provider's policy.

Limits of local storage

Browser extension storage is not a vault. The product does not claim that local data is encrypted. Use it on a device you control.

Clearing browser data, resetting the browser profile, or uninstalling the extension can remove results and settings. Local results are a cache, not a backup, and they do not sync between devices.

Do it on your device

Web

  1. Open the side panel and go to Settings.
  2. Use the clear action to delete saved results; results also expire after 90 days.
  3. Delete a custom service configuration to remove its Base URL, model, and key.
  4. On the account page, sign out or revoke shortcut and PWA credentials.

Results are keyed by message ID and source fingerprint. At most 500 are kept.

iPhone

  1. Open the official account page in a browser and sign in.
  2. Find the shortcut credential and revoke the binding.
  3. Generate a new one-time code only when you need to bind again.

Revoking the shortcut stops it from calling the official service.

Android

  1. Open the app and go to Settings.
  2. Choose the clear-history action.
  3. Confirm deletion of the local text history.

History holds up to 50 text items on the device. It is not a chat backup.

Frequently asked questions

Does it keep my whole chat history?

No. It keeps derived results for messages you processed, not the conversation itself.

How long are translations kept?

Saved results expire after 90 days. At most 500 results are kept, and you can clear them in settings.

Where are API keys stored?

In extension local storage, restricted to trusted extension contexts. The product does not claim encrypted storage.

Can I delete everything?

Clear results, delete local configuration and keys, or uninstall the extension. Official-service records are handled on the account page; third-party content follows that provider's policy.

Is data synced across devices?

No. Local results and settings stay in the browser profile where they were created.

Does the official service keep task records?

Yes. Account, wallet, usage, and task records are kept on the official service so billing and history work. Its policy governs that data.
