How do I install the inWind WA Helper Chrome extension?

Install on desktop Chrome 120+, open WhatsApp Web, connect the official service or a custom API, and set interface and target languages.

Installation takes a few minutes. You need desktop Chrome 120 or later and a WhatsApp account that can open WhatsApp Web.

The extension lives in a side panel. It does not replace the WhatsApp page, and it does not change how messages are sent.

Before you start

Check the requirements before opening the store page. The extension is built for WhatsApp Web in desktop Chrome, not for the mobile app.

You also need a way to pay for model usage: the official service wallet, or a custom API account with your own provider.

  • Desktop Chrome 120 or later.
  • A WhatsApp account that opens web.whatsapp.com.
  • For the official service, a WeChat account for QR login.
  • For a custom API, an HTTPS Base URL, model name, and key.

Install and open the side panel

Install from the Chrome Web Store, then open WhatsApp Web in the same browser profile.

  1. Open the Chrome Web Store listing and choose Add to Chrome.
  2. Confirm the permission prompt.
  3. Open web.whatsapp.com and wait for chats to load.
  4. Click the extension icon in the toolbar. It opens WhatsApp Web if needed and opens the side panel.
  5. If the browser blocks the side panel after a new tab, click the icon once more.
  6. To use the page menu instead, right-click the WhatsApp page and choose the side-panel entry.

Connect a service

The default is the official service. Choose WeChat QR login on the account page and scan the code with WeChat. The first scan creates the account.

To use a custom API, open settings, choose the service source, and fill in Base URL, model, and key. Text, image, and voice have separate settings. HTTPS is required; HTTP is accepted only for loopback addresses. Saving a custom configuration is what allows switching away from the official service.

Set languages and test one message

Choose the interface language, then choose the translation target. They are separate: switching the interface does not change the target.

Open a chat, click a message, and choose an action from the menu. Check the result before sending. Voice notes and images use the same menu. Text and image tasks wait up to eight seconds; slower tasks return an ID and keep polling.

Permissions, limits, and what it never reads

The extension requests access to WhatsApp Web. Model domains are requested through optional host permissions when you configure a custom endpoint.

It reads the message you select. Auto-translate is off by default; when enabled, it reads only visible incoming messages in the open chat. It does not scan chats, contacts, or history, and it does not send messages.

The supported target is desktop Chrome. There is no mobile browser, Firefox, or Safari version. If WhatsApp Web changes its page, a feature may need an extension update.

Do it on your device

  2. Open the account page on a computer, sign in, and generate a one-time shortcut binding code.
